Hobo nickel

Taavi @ 25.07.2012 11:37 | Registreerunud: 01.04.2003

The hobo nickel is a sculptural art form involving the creative modification of small-denomination coins, essentially resulting in miniature bas reliefs. The nickel, because of its size, thickness, and relative softness, was a favored coin for this purpose. However, the term hobo nickel is generic, as carvings have been made from many different denominations.

Due to its low cost and portability, this medium was particularly popular among hobos, hence the name.

Natuke küll juba vana info kuid siiski põnev suhtlustevõrdlus:

The Credit Blog:

Did you know that the average American only spends 26.5% of their paycheck on housing? That number may seem low but when you look at where the rest of the money goes, it is not that surprising.

According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, US consumers spend their money as follows:

Food: $6,129 or 9.81%.   That’s $2,505 eating out (4.01%) and $3,624 eating at home (5.8%).

Housing: $16,557 or 26.53% For those who have a mortgage, $3,351 goes just to the interest and other charges. For people who rent, $2,900 or 4.64% is spent on their home.

Clothes and related items: $1,700 or 2.72% is spent on clothing, shoes and other related items.

Transportation: $7,677 or 12.29% gets allocated to being mobile. This includes the car payment and upkeep, public transportation, and even the occasional water taxi.  Gas and motor oil account for $2,132 or 3.41% of this cost.

Healthcare:  $3,157 or 5.05% pays for doctors’ visits, colds, broken bones, and other health care related expenses.

Entertainment: US Consumers use $2,504 or 4.01% of their average income to be entertained, whether at the movies, concerts, or other venues.

Personal Insurance and pensions: $5,373 or 8.6% is paid into personal insurance policies or pensions.

Everything else:  $5,012 or 8.02% goes for everything else.
