The Japanese company Blest has developed one of the smallest and safest oil-to-plastic conversion machines out on the market today. It's founder and CEO, Akinori Ito is passionate about using this machine to change the way people around the world think about their plastic trash. From solving our landfill and garbage disposal issues to reducing our oil dependency on the Middle East, his machine may one day be in every household across Japan.
While holding up a bag of trash, he states, "It's a waste to throw away, isn't it? This is a treasure."

Rishi saar - Spiral Island 2

Urmet @ 14.09.2010 09:01 | Registreerunud: 17.04.2003

Mees loksub Mehhikos Isla Mujeres'e saarel väikeses laguunis tormituulte eest kaitstuna head elu nautides.

What do you get when you put 7000 plastic bottles, 60 old sign posts, 350 metres of plastic water piping, 5 sheets of old building site hoarding, 2 old scaffold planks and the sweat of over 180 volunteers together? This awesome Fizzy Bottle Hut! At first glance, the recycled structure might look like it has a colorful, shingled roof but upon closer inspection, you can see that it's actually made up of thousands of flattened soda and water bottles.

TieTek™ composite ties are 85% recycled material. Each mile of TieTek track uses approximately 2 million plastic bottles, 9 million plastic bags and 10,000 scrapped vehicle tires instead of consuming over 750 trees.

PermaTieTM engineered ties are made exclusively with quality, UV protected, recycled plastics and a common mineral filler; no other miscellaneous fillers or extraneous ingredients.

According to the plastics division of the American Chemistry Council, "the railroad ties market is huge since each tie requires 200 pounds of plastic — equaling 1,200 bottles."
